CLIL train-the-trainer course
For Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), I developed a CLIL train-the-trainer course for trainers and subject specialists working at the Centre for Educational Programmes (CEP) in Astana, Kazakhstan. The emphasis of the course was giving the trainers and subject specialists tools to design their own CLIL training courses. Topics included CLIL topics such as activating in CLIL, encouraging speaking in CLIL, model workshops, designing a CLIL training curriculum, trying workshop activities out with peers, giving feedback, personal group presentations.

Some outcomes of the course were that participants:

  • have designed a curriculum, CLIL workshops and practical  CLIL activities for their own training purposes and understand how to implement CLIL in classrooms
  • become more familiar with the characteristics of, theories behind and classroom applications for CLIL
  • can work with teachers in order to support them in implementing and incorporating CLIL methodology into their own classrooms

Training trainers in communicative English language teaching methodology
In cooperation with the British Council in India, I developed master trainer notes for the BLISS teacher training course for teachers working in Bihar. These notes support master trainers who train trainers in basic communicative English language teaching in poorly resourced schools. The master trainer notes accompany the teachers’ workbook and teacher educators’ course and notes which I have developed as head of and in conjunction with a team of Indian writers, in Bihar.
